because He made a world worth noticing

I think I love to create

because He does.

He made a world

worth noticing.

Light worth chasing.

Flowers worth pressing.

Stories worth telling.

A world so full of beauty

that sometimes my heart catches

before I even know why.

The way light finds its way

through a window.

The ocean stretching farther

than I can comprehend.

Flowers growing wild

in places no one planted them.

A sky changing colors

just because it can.

There is so much beauty

in this world

that sometimes it chokes me up

to think that He made all of it.

Not just the grand things.

The tiny things, too.

The details no one may ever notice.

The moments that pass

without anyone taking a picture.

What a world He made.

And maybe that's why

something in me comes alive

when I create.

When I photograph it.

When I write it down.

When I make something with my hands.

When I get to hold onto a moment

for just a little longer.

And maybe every time

I make something beautiful,

I'm simply answering

the invitation

He gave me first.
